Keywords and competitors
How RankHabit picks keywords, how to reject or restore them, find more, and how your competitor list shapes comparison articles.
Plan → Keywords lists every keyword researched for your site, grouped by topic, with the article each one belongs to.
How keywords are picked
Research starts from what you sell, who it's for, your home page and your competitors. Only keywords that fit your business well are planned, and searches that one article would answer together become one article: the most searched is its main keyword and the rest are secondary keywords. Topics your own pages already cover are marked Covered instead of planned.
Reject, restore and find more
- Reject: press ✕ on a planned keyword whose article hasn't started. Its article leaves the calendar and the articles after it move up.
- Reject several: tick them, then Reject. You're asked first.
- Restore: on the Rejected filter, Restore puts a keyword back on the plan on the next free day.
- Find more keywords only adds new ones after your last planned day. Nothing already planned, covered or rejected changes.
A rejected keyword isn't suggested again. If it repeats a keyword still on the plan, it joins that article as a secondary keyword instead.
Archiving an article rejects its keyword too, and Undo brings it back.
Competitors
Edit your competitors in Settings → Site → Competitors, up to 5. We plan articles comparing you with them, and the writer uses each one's own pages for facts like prices and plans.
On the AI visibility page, + Add puts a brand the AIs name next to you on the list. When the list is full, remove one in Settings first. More on AI visibility.
